As a Vice President/Financial Advisor with CAPTRUST, I provide independent advisory services for not-for-profit and corporate retirement plans. I have 25+ years experience in the retirement plan industry and enjoy my current position providing full fiduciary investment oversight in a streamlined-delivery service model. The actions of plan sponsors are measured against the highest standards in the land... those of a prudent expert as defined by ERISA. Actions must be sound, well-documented AND in the exclusive best interests of plan participants and their beneficiaries. The winds of change are blowing strongly through the not-for-profit landscape. New words and phrases have entered the vocabulary lately, including ERISA, Open Architecture, Investment Policy Statement, Target Date Funds, Single-Provider Platform, and others. Keeping up with this rising complexity requires specialized assistance and I enjoy enhancing plans which ultimately improve outcomes for those working in honorable fields including academics, research, medical, cultural, and governmental. I'm thrilled to be part of a premier leader in our industry. Over the past 29 years, CAPTRUST has become one of the largest independent retirement plan investment consulting practices and today we serve as a trusted fiduciary to more than $220B of client assets under management. Our nationwide presence and deep specialization provide clients direct access to expert resources and important insights gained from our collective experience. Our mission is to enrich the lives of our clients, colleagues, and communities through sound financial advice, integrity, and a committment to service beyond expectation. Within the community, activities have included supporting my local JDRF (Diabetes Research) Chapter, rec team coaching, my wife & I support local hunger relief charity Porch of Western Wake. This year (2017) I joined the board of the CAPCommunity Foundation & tutor kids with Read and Feed.
