Terry brings more than 20 years of financial service experience to his role at Merrill. Prior to joining the firm in 2014, Terry worked for NatCity Investments, a full-service brokerage, "wire house"-style firm in Evansville, Indiana. He also worked for two bank-centered investment operations-Independence Financial Services in Western Kentucky and Fifth Third Securities in Evansville. Terry founded Wheeler Financial Services, LLC, in Evansville in March 2007. He successfully grew WFS, hiring advisors and support staff, continuing his efforts to provide high level financial advice and guidance to clients. In January of 2014, after careful consideration, and many enlightening discussions, Terry and his team joined Merrill, merging with what he referred to as a "like-minded" team-the former BMT Group. Terry joined forces with Steve Bass, John Musgrave, and Robin Thomas (all of the former BMT Group), and with Brad Williams to create a wholly new group, BMWT & Associates. Together they constitute a well-positioned multigenerational team that has the capacity and ability to address the varying degrees of complex situations that clients face today and will face in the future. In addition to being the relationship manager for some key accounts, he also works with the team's clients as they implement wealth preservation and transfer strategies. Terry enjoys helping clients determine and define their goals, dreams and financial objectives. He especially enjoys helping match appropriate investment strategy and portfolios to meet the changing objectives of clients. Terry attributes his passion for wealth management and helping people largely in part to a dramatic, life-changing event that happened in his boyhood. The death of his father when he was eight years old began a series of events that shaped Terry's perspective and continues to influence his decisions today.
