In 2025, the total amount of digital data in the world is anticipated to exceed 175 zettabytes. For perspective, today, this would fill over 650 billion iPads. An inconvenient method of data storage on scale, that number, stacked two storeys high, would fill central London. The commercial potential of such an abundance of data is clear, but its value is entirely dependent upon the ability to understand and effectively exploit it. This interest continues to influence my career and inspires my personal enterprise, making use of my ability to drive insight from both structured and unstructured data - resolving analysis into fundamental principles. Whether to better predict behaviours, improve forecasts, or simply provide perspective to the current environment, the unrealised potential of such a wealth of data is a hugely motivating factor.
