I was born in the Washington, D.C. area. I received a B.A. from the University Of Virginia in 1986 and completed course work at the Institute of European Studies at the London School of Economics in 1985 and the University of Paris IV in 1987. After working in government relations in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and Los Angeles, I joined Morgan Stanleys predecessor firm in their Beverly Hills office in December 1993 where I continue to work today. I currently serve as President of the Board of Directors of Friendly House, a women's health facility and member of the Board of Trustees for the Episcopal School of Los Angeles (ESLA) located in Hollywood. Formerly, I had served on the Board of Directors for the Wilshire Park Association, and the Finance Committee of All Saints Episcopal Church in Beverly Hills. I have completed 16 marathons.
