I am a Junior at the Charles H. Dyson School Of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University. I am majoring in Applied Economics and Management and am on track to double concentrate in finance and business analytics. Currently, I have an interest in pursuing a career in finance, business analytics, and consulting with a focus on traveling to help gain knowledge of the worlds economy and help clients with business ventures. As a first-generation Afro-Latina student, I value diversity and inclusion and want to make sure my efforts now will help me give back to my community. Over the years I have done a few things that have helped me obtain the following transferable skills: Collaborative skills: I have the natural ability to work as a team and make sure my team excels in the task being enforced. I worked at Cornells North Star Dining Hall and although shifts are mainly independent, the job still has helped me build team skills. I am currently a social media intern for WOC Worldwide and work with other people to make the company's social media platforms as intriguing and inclusive as possible. Finding solutions to problems with a collective group is engaging to me and allows me to understand different perspectives. Leadership skills: Even though I like to work in a team, I also have the natural ability to be a good leader guiding the group to success. My optimistic and positive attitude helps the team want me to take initiative to lead. I seek leadership positions to make sure everyone is heard and included in every situation. I have led a dance and step team, volunteer projects, and Korean Honor Society ceremonial banquets. Communication skills: I have developed interpersonal communication through the courses I am currently taking at Cornell. Currently, I am part of the Intergroup Dialogue Project where I learn how to converse amongst differences in social identities between people. I am also in Management Communication; a course that has helped me be more confident in my verbal skills and give me tools to effectively deliver various forms of writing. Also, working at a dining hall has improved my customer service skills. I am eager to develop my business acumen through summer internships and any job opportunities to find a career that is best for me. I want to be able to create generational wealth and change by impacting the business world.
