Martin's role expanded in March 2020 where he took on global accountability for the functions reporting to the Audit Committee and the Group's Board alongside transforming how the department evidences effective risk management and deliver audits more effectively and efficiently. Additionally, Martin became the lead Audit Partner for providing assurance over the Bank's Third Party Risks. Martin is an experienced auditor having undertaken a number of Head of Audit roles at his previous employer Lloyds Banking Group.
Martin is an inspirational and driven transformational leader passionate about building rewarding relationships and creating high performing teams. With 30 years of domestic and International retail banking experience Martin has worked in a variety of senior roles. Known for being a strategic thinker and astute collaborator Martin has influenced at board level to deliver results and successfully execute change whilst safely managing risk.
Throughout his career Martin has gained a strong reputation for having a valued opinion and delivering on his promises. He is completely focused on supporting and driving a valued partnership between Group Internal Audit and the rest of the Banks in which he has worked.
Martin is happy to relocate within the UK or overseas for the right opportunity. Future career aspirations remain within a financial services audit function at Managing Director level. Martin is married with two children and lives in Hertfordshire.
