As an Employment Counsellor , Career Coach , and Workshop Facilitator , I am extremely passionate about working collaboratively with individuals to identify their strengths and skills, discover and achieve their employment and vocational goals, and reach their highest potential.
In my current role, I assist multi-barriered youth, ages 18 29, prepare for employment in fields that they are passionate about. My everyday duties involve virtual and in-person workshop facilitation, individual meetings with clients to coach and support them through their job search, and working with employers to secure work placements and employment opportunities.
The program that I established and facilitate, Youth Employment Preparation (YEP), is a multi-week youth program that provides participants with the skills, resources, connections, and support to obtain and maintain employment. I support clients in their job search by providing resume, cover letter, and interview assistance, as well as promoting the development of soft skills, such as motivation, self-esteem and enthusiasm. Furthermore, I work collaboratively with my clients to develop realistic vocational and personal goals, and individualized action plans.
