Spanish by birth, Chef Chele Gonzalez started to love the kitchen and its intimacies at a very early age. Chele studied culinary arts in Bilbao and then went on to work in some of the worlds most renowned restaurants, including Andra Mari, Arzak, El Bulli, El Celler de Can Roca, Nerua-Guggenheim, and Mugaritz where he developed his culinary philosophy. This philosophy revolves around the twin impulses of his adventurous spirit and a deep, enduring respect for local culture, flavor and technique. Chef Chele Gonzalez has been based in the Philippines since 2013 but has traveled Asia and the world perfecting his own art, contributing to multiple culinary projects and discovering the land. Chef Chele, known in the industry as The Innovative Chef, is most inspired, however, by the personal bonds he establishes with the growers, producers, breeders, makers, and communities who have become his friends during these travels. Chef Chele Gonzalez strives to find new ingredients, flavours and most importantly different ways to understand food. He holds multiple culinary awards in both the Philippines and Asia -including two back-to-back accolades in Asias 50 Best Restaurants. Chele currently heads his Restaurant in Manila "Gallery by Chele" -together with architect and artist Juan Carlo Calma-, as well as "Enye by Chele Gonzalez", "See.Food by Chele" and "ADVICHE", his consulting arm -along with other renowned local industry experts.
