I am originally from Hopkinsville, KY where I lived until my junior year of high school when I moved to southern IL. Upon graduation from high school, I took a job with the U.S. Forest Service (at the age of 17) and worked my way up through the ranks eventually moving to Troy, NC and later to Asheville NC. In the latter years with the U.S. Forest Service, I worked as a Realty Specialist buying and exchanging land for the government. My projects included buying land for the Appalachian Trail and the Chattooga River. In 1996, I left the government and moved to Highlands NC.
