Gaby Montinola is a firm believer of research-based practice, especially in promoting student-centered education for all. Gaby has been working for diverse education settings-- from pre-k to 12, rural Philippines to Manhattan, NY-- every year since she tutored four students in the 8th grade and loved it. Her research experience comes from her work in cognitive development (Wesleyan University) and affective neuroscience (University College London) labs. In 2017, Gaby interned at Khan Lab School where she was an early contributor to the school's conceptualisation of Mastery in lower school Math.
Gaby is currently working as a Data and Impact Assessment Manager at Teach for the Philippines (TFP), where she focuses on evidence-based decision making and measurement. This year, data-informed recommendations for TFP's functional literacy and life skills programs are Gaby's priority projects.
