During my long career in the financial services industry, I have been fortunate to work for some of the finest institutions and with many of the brightest people who helped shape this industry into what it is today. The worldwide marketplace we deal in exemplifies the ever-changing dynamics and challenges we must address daily. My job is to represent the needs and objectives of my clients in that marketplace. To do so effectively I must understand their goals and the extent of their resources. Although I have clients spread throughout the country, most live within proximity to my office in Marblehead. They are investors with long-term goals who rely on me to keep them on track. My responsibility is not simply to provide investment guidance, but also to educate, motivate and counsel. Prior to joining Edward Jones, I provided financial planning services through a firm I founded and operated for 20+ years. Before that, I held senior management positions at Fidelity Investments, then Putnam Investments. In 1989, I became a Certified Financial Planner (CFP)*. My wife, Linda, and I lived in Marblehead, MA for several decades where we raised our two boys, Andrew and Jeffrey. I coached local baseball and football teams, held volunteer officer positions at area clubs and served as a non-public arbitrator for FINRA. *The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. awards CFP certification to individuals who meet the boards requirements for professionalism in financial services. To gain certification, a financial advisor must pass the CFP Certification Examination and the CFP Boards Fitness Standards for Candidates and Registrants, agree to abide by the CFP Boards Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility and comply with the Financial Planning Practice Standards.
