Originally from Bloomington, Indiana, I attended the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, where I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Technology Management in May of 2015. I also earned my Master of Science Degree in Accounting from the Kelley School of Business in May of 2016. I found the technical accounting coursework during my college career challenging but rewarding. My academic experiences laid the foundation for my future career in accounting. During my senior undergraduate year and my graduate year, I worked as an Accounts Payable and Billing Specialist at Solution Tree, a Bloomington-based professional development company. After graduating with my Masters degree, I began my full time career with Ernst and Young in Indianapolis as an assurance auditor, and currently hold a position within the firm as an experienced assurance senior. I also obtained my Indiana CPA license in January of 2018. During my time with Ernst and Young, I've had the opportunity to work in a teaming environment with other high-level performers, while also interacting with a variety of different clients in industries including real estate, manufacturing and healthcare. I've also been able to work on and obtain a thorough understanding area of complex accounting areas, such as equity method investments, hospital revenue and related accounts receivable, and inventory valuation. Furthermore, I have had opportunities to observe and develop strategies to test the implementation of new accounting pronouncements, such as the revenue recognition standard (ASC606) and the lease standard (ASC842) across my engagements. I have worked on both public and private audits covered under US GAAP, the Uniform Guidance framework, not-for-profit guidance, and J-SOX reporting requirements. My career with Ernst and Young has been nothing less than exciting, and I look forward to applying the knowledge I've gained from my experiences toward my future endeavors.
