Alex L. Cann, Jr., CFP Senior Vice President, Financial Advisor and Portfolio Management Director; Alex has been a financial advisor for over 27 years. Alexs role is in customizing the overall plan and investments in a way that helps to meet our clients goals. He lives in Atlanta/Buckhead with his wife Chris and two children (16 & 14), but grew up in Savannah, GA. He graduated from Episcopal High School in Alexandria VA., and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Georgia while graduating from the Honors Program. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Alex began his business career in New York City as Assistant Treasurer for a public biotech company and in Corporate Trust for Manufacturers Hanover Bank in M&A. He also holds the titles of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER and Senior Investment Management Specialist. Alex believes in giving back to society. He is involved at his Church (St Lukes Episcopal), having served as a member of the vestry leadership. He is on the Board of a non-profit called Leaders Legacy that focuses on developing leaders, mentoring, and servant leadership. He recently served as Chair of the Board of the Lupus Foundation of America-GA Chapter, where each year the Mary G. Cann award is given in memory of his mother, and continues to serve on the Executive Advisory Board. Ever since their daughter was diagnosed with diabetes at age 2, Alex and his wife have devoted a lot of their time to furthering diabetes research and awareness through organizations like the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. They served as co-chairs of the JDRF Gala in the spring of 2014 which raised a record $1.7MM, and Alex currently serves on their Board of Directors. Alex also serves on the Board of Directors for the Cherokee Town and CC, and is currently the President. He enjoys playing tennis and golf, and getting away to a family home in Highlands NC, where he is a member of Highland Falls CC.
