Alan Paulson is a Senior Vice President Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley. He is a senior partner in The Paulson/Shoemaker Group at Morgan Stanley. As of August, 2021, the Paulson/Shoemaker Group manages $1.3 billion in assets for a limited number of wealthy families, professional athletes, business owners and corporate clients. He began his career in financial services out of a desire to educate individuals and families on the multi-generational opportunities that arise from capturing present-day financial goals. Alan aims to be more than simply an investment manager but rather a full-financial health counselor who addresses the total financial picture of his clientele. He provides guidance in retirement, tax, estate and insurance planning strategies as well as advanced capabilities in health, lending, college, and cash management needs. He believes in simplicity and being transparent in respect to fees, risk, investment philosophy and performance to better prepare and navigate his clients amid moments of market volatility. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP) professional, a designation conferred by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards in the United States. He is a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) professional, a designation awarded by the College of Financial Planning. He also holds the FINRA series 7 and 66 registrations. A graduate of Brigham Young University, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and spent 6 years working in pharmaceutical sales before transitioning into the wealth management industry. He is fluent in Spanish. Alan enjoys sportsespecially tennis, pickleball and racquetball. He also enjoys playing the guitar and piano. Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his family and doing volunteer work with his religious organization. He and his wife Kara reside in Alpine with their five children.
